Surf Package Essaouira — What’s Included, Prices & How to Choose
Looking for a surf package in Essaouira? Here’s everything you need to know — what’s actually included, how much it costs, and why an all-inclusive package at Sidi Kaouki is the best way to experience surfing in Morocco.
What is a Surf Package in Essaouira?
A surf package in Essaouira is an all-inclusive stay that combines accommodation, surf lessons, meals, and usually airport transfers into one price. Instead of booking everything separately — a riad here, lessons there, taxis everywhere — you arrive and everything is handled.
At Surf Twins Essaouira, our surf package runs from €380 per person and covers 6 nights of everything you need.
What’s Included in the Surf Twins Package
- 6 nights accommodation in a guesthouse with pool and garden near Sidi Kaouki
- All meals — Moroccan breakfast every morning, beach lunch on surf days, dinner each evening
- 6 surf lessons with certified local instructors — max 5 students per group
- All surf equipment — surfboard and wetsuit for every session
- Airport transfers from Essaouira-Mogador Airport
- Spot selection based on daily conditions — we surf the best break of the day, not the nearest beach
Price: from €380 per person for 6 nights all-inclusive.
Where is the Package Based — Essaouira or Sidi Kaouki?
Our surf package is based at Sidi Kaouki, 30km south of Essaouira. This is a deliberate choice. Sidi Kaouki has Morocco’s most consistent Atlantic beach break — better waves, less wind, and far fewer crowds than Essaouira’s main beach.
You’ll be 2 minutes’ walk from the surf every morning. Essaouira city is a 30-minute drive — we organise a trip to the medina during the week so you experience both.
How Our Surf Package Compares
Most surf packages in Essaouira are either cheap-and-basic (shared dormitories, crowded group lessons, beach hire boards) or expensive-and-impersonal (big resort style, 15-student groups, staff who aren’t surfers).
Ours sits in between: genuinely comfortable accommodation, genuinely small groups (max 5 students), genuinely local instructors who grew up surfing this coastline. Mouhssin and Yassine Kharbouch have been teaching here since 2017 and have over 7,000 students.

Who is the Surf Package For?
Beginners who want to learn properly without rushing. Intermediate surfers who want multiple sessions in a relaxed setting. Solo travellers who don’t want to figure out logistics in a new country. Couples and small groups who want a shared experience that’s more than a beach holiday.
We’ve had guests from over 50 countries. The mix on any given week is usually a couple of solo travellers, a pair of friends, and occasionally a couple — all at similar levels and all there to surf.
When to Book a Surf Package in Essaouira
Our surf packages run year-round. The best times:
- September–November: Our favourite season. Warm water, building swells, empty beaches, ideal for all levels.
- March–May: Excellent conditions, warming weather, minimal crowds.
- December–February: Best waves of the year for intermediates. Water is cold but the coaching is worth it.
- June–August: Gentle waves perfect for absolute beginners. Book early — summer fills up fast.

Sidi Kaouki vs Essaouira Beach: Your Surfing Questions Answered
Sidi Kaouki is generally better for surfing, with longer, cleaner, and more consistent waves thanks to direct Atlantic swells. Essaouira Beach is more sheltered, offering smaller waves that are ideal for beginners but often affected by wind.
Both spots are suitable for beginners, depending on conditions. Essaouira Beach is perfect for your first lesson with smaller, softer waves. Sidi Kaouki is also beginner-friendly, with a sandy bottom and multiple surf peaks that allow instructors to find the best waves for your level.
The best time for surfing is from September to April, when Atlantic swells are more consistent. During summer, Essaouira becomes very windy, which is great for kitesurfing but less ideal for surfing. Sidi Kaouki often still offers good surf conditions even when Essaouira is windy.
Most surfers choose to stay in Essaouira and surf in Sidi Kaouki. Essaouira offers more accommodation, restaurants, and cultural experiences, while Sidi Kaouki provides better and more consistent surf conditions. Many surf schools offer day trips between the two.
